6th Street Vintage Exhibition: show breakdown

Updated: Jul 1

When you think fashion week and exhibitions I know your brain goes to New York City, Milan, and Paris Fashion week. Featuring exclusive one of a kind shows that not everyone will have the chance to see in person. But like minded and creative people are all around you!

6th Street Vintage is a Cleveland based fashion brand focused on upcycling old clothes. The ready to wear pieces all showed elements of trending styles including leather and fringe. But with a uniform touch!

The first half of the show featured a theme that has been circuiting the internet lately being country chic. Now it may not be explicit but there where undertones with the use of fringe. For example there was one leather fringe jacket that has been in the back of my mind since the show ended!

Going along with the show themes guest simply did not disappoint. From my eyes the color palette of the night was blacks, reds, and whites. Featuring layers on layers of denim, lace, and leather. Everyone was very cohesive you may find one person in sneakers, and another in eight inch stilettos. But together it worked flawlessly.

The second half of the show featured more of that uniform style with a color palette of browns, greens, and reds. And the main event was the upcycled potato sacks which was featured in almost every look.

In classic cat walk fashion the show had to end with a little couture moment. Featuring four avant garde style dresses. The contrast between each look

reminded me of Anna Wintours questionable quote "Versace dresses the mistress, Armani dresses the wife." The first look was more bridal street wear chic. While the other featured a corset with a black hoop skirt.. a stark contrast to the rest of the show.
